The Aquatics Director oversees all aquatics programs, staff, and operations at the assigned location, ensuring compliance with YMCA standards and New York State Department of Health regulations. They develop and implement aquatic programs, supervise staff, and promote a culture of safety and engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aquatics management or a related role
- Current certifications in YMCA Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, and First Aid (or equivalent)
- Lifeguard Instructor Certification within 1 year of employment
- Certification as a YMCA Swim Instructor Trainer or equivalent
- Pool Operator certification within 6 months of employment
