Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Camp PA/Archery Instructor is responsible for planning, supervising, and delivering archery and ropes course activities for campers in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Minimum age requirement per state and YMCA guidelines (typically 18+)
- Prior archery experience required; instructional experience strongly preferred
- Current archery certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to enforce safety rules consistently and effectively
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Previous experience with ropes courses, outdoor education, or adventure programming preferred
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions
- Ropes course certification required or willingness to be trained
