Job Description
The Lifeguard position at the YMCA involves maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Responding to emergencies, enforcing pool rules, and assisting with swim instruction are key responsibilities. Lifeguards are welcoming and value inclusivity.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Currently hold or possess the ability to participate in and achieve certification for the following: Professional rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross or YMCA, Starguard, Ellis that can be crossed over to American Red Cross
- Minimum of six months of related lifesaving experience preferred
- Swimming-tread-swim sequence completion without rest
