Summer Camp One-to-One Counselor/Aide

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking Summer Camp One-to-One Counselors/Aides to provide individualized support to campers with specialized needs, promoting a positive and inclusive camp experience.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college or more preferred.
• Minimum one year of related experience working with youth, ideally with special needs.
• Experience working with children with special needs is required.
• Background in recreation, education, camping, or sports is favorable.
• Strong patience, empathy, and communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for campers.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of camp.
