Job Description
ZEISS is looking for a Patent Specialist to join their team in Oberkochen, Germany. As a patent specialist, you will be responsible for handling patent law issues, analyzing inventions, and steering patent grant procedures. You will also develop IP strategies, formulate IP regulations, and support enforcement of rights. The ideal candidate will have a technical or natural science degree, qualification as a patent assessor or admitted representative, and several years of experience in an industrial patent department. Proficiency in English and German is required, as well as ability to present complex technical matters clearly.
Requirements
- Completed technical or natural science degree
- Qualification as patent assessor or admitted representative before the EPA
- Several years of professional experience in an industrial patent department with profound technology knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of the peculiarities of foreign patent systems, particularly the USA and Asian industrial states
- Communication and negotiation skills in interdisciplinary teams
- Team-oriented collaboration in complex, decentralized projects to achieve common goals
- Confident appearance in the national and international environment
- Very good English and German skills
- Ability to present complex technical matters in a clear and convincing manner
