Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Technician at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, in Rochelle, IL, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable operation of tube mill production equipment. This position focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, quality, rate, and yield through effective electrical and mechanical maintenance practices.

What You Will Do

Perform electrical maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality-related issues, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems and PLCs
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass job-related testing, an employment physical, and a drug screening
• Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset
