Staff Software Engineer - API Testing & Automation

Zscaler is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Shared Platform Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud-hosted applications, database operations, API testing, microservices architecture, and automation scripting using Python. The role will involve leading functional, system, and automation testing efforts, expanding automation coverage and ensuring efficiency and robust quality assurance. The candidate will also be responsible for managing Federal cloud processes, investigating and resolving complex production issues, and contributing to team growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Development or Quality Assurance experience, specifically within networking and security environments
• Strong expertise in cloud-hosted applications, database operations, API testing, microservices architecture, and automation scripting using Python
• Proficiency in L4-L7 Internet and Security networking protocols including TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and HTTP/HTTPS
• Experience with deployment and monitoring tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Ansible
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues
