Telecommunications Mechanic I

Role Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Telecommunications Mechanic I to install, remove, and relocate common telephone systems equipment for Fort Campbell. This is a full-time, represented position.

What You Will Do

Splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cable to meet job requirements. Perform cabling, power, grounding of various types of equipment and hardware using proper tools and safety practices.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must hold the following certifications: BICSI Installer I (INST1), BICSI Installer II Copper (INSTC), and BICSI Installer II Fiber (INSTF). Must be trained in OSHA Confined Space, basic bucket truck operations, ladder safety, aerial and scissor lift safety, GPS, and cable location.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure and installation
• HS Diploma or GED
• BICSI Installer I (INST1) certification
• BICSI Installer II Copper (INSTC) certification
• BICSI Installer II Fiber (INSTF) certification
• OSHA Confined Space training
• basic bucket truck operations training
• ladder safety training
• aerial and scissor lift safety training
• GPS training
• cable location training
• US citizenship
• current Secret clearance
