Telecommunications Technician

Role Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to install, remove, and relocate common telephone systems equipment in support of Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position.

What You Will Do

Provide daily maintenance and troubleshooting, engineering and installation and testing of copper and fiber optic inside and outside plants, both classified and unclassified systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in switch, inside plant, and outside plant support
• HS diploma or GED
• BICSI Installer certification desired
• Familiar with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office suite
• Experience in installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting of structured cabling (CAT5e, CAT6) copper cabling plant
• Experience in installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting inside/outside plant (multi-mode and single-mode) fiber optic cable plants
• Proficient with cable test equipment and working knowledge of all applicable TIA/EIA cabling standards
• Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance
