News Media and Relations Officer

We are looking for an ambitious News Media and Relations Officer to join the Action for Children team based in Glasgow, Scotland on a 12-month Fixed Term contract. The role involves planning, implementing, and delivering news and media relations activities in the UK to highlight Action for Children and issues relating to vulnerable and neglected children, young people, and their families.

Requirements

• Experience of working within a press, PR, or communications office, overseeing proactive and reactive news/media.
• Experience of working with national broadcast, print, and online media.
• Experience of briefing and preparing service users and colleagues to undertake media interviews.
• Experience of working on projects/campaigns within multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Experience of planning and delivering creative news/media strategies.
• Experience of responding to crisis/reputation management issues.
• Ability to build rapport and establish, develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with journalists, staff, volunteers, vulnerable families, young people, and children.
