Job Description
ADAPT Community Network, formerly United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of NYC, provides support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Role: Residence Program Specialist supports the care, development, and independence of residents in a residential facility. This involves providing direct support, advocating for individual goals, and fostering a supportive environment. The role requires interaction with the families, medical staff, and community.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months of related experience preferred, not required.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
