Job Description
ADAPT Community Network, formerly United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of NYC, provides specialized services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This on-site position, Habilitation Assistant, provides direct support to individuals in achieving greater independence, implementing program plans, ensuring safety, and promoting their inclusion in the community. The role involves both direct personal care and supporting individualized programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months of related experience preferred, but not required.
- AMAP approval required at time of hire or within six months.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding people's rights
- Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
