Co-op Engineering Student

Aecon has several openings within the Civil West division for Engineering Co-op students. The positions will provide the opportunity to take an active involvement in exciting heavy civil projects and provide opportunities for learning and development. The student intern will have the following duties: conduct site audits and analysis, assist Field Engineers and Superintendents, perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis, and assist in the provision of job cost reports to management.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
• Beginner knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, building materials and required standards applicable to the project
• A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Beginner knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• A strong work ethic – highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right
• Adaptable to flexible work schedules (day and night shifts) when required to meet deadlines
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
