Staff Engineer position responsible for research, development, and successful launches of new products to the market. Requires strong grasp of engineering principles, including theoretical foundations of mechanical and electrical engineering, with in-depth experience in the design of electromechanical devices.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar applicable engineering discipline, from an ABET accredited institution.
- 10+ years working with design and manufacturing of electromechanical products.
- Innovative thinker - able to envision new and better ways to do things.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with domestic and international cross-functional associates.
- Experience in executing complex problem-solving techniques related to design/technical issues.
- Excellent analytical skills, and good instincts and sound judgment for mechanical and structural design.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with various manufacturing and finishing processes (injection molding, machining, casting, forging, heat treatment, anodizing, powder coat, etc.), tolerances, fits & finishes, and GD&T.
- Strong CAD user – CREO, SolidWorks, NX, etc. CREO is preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience a plus.
- Ability to facilitate, lead, teach or execute the use of PPAP, DFM/DFA, DVP&R, DFMEA and PFMEA.
