Corporate Counsel

At Associated Electric Cooperative, we're committed to providing reliable energy to the communities we serve. As Corporate Counsel, you will provide strategic legal counsel that protects and advances the business operations of Associated Electric Cooperative.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Minimum 4 years of legal experience
• Active bar membership in good standing, preferably Missouri
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Experience or interest in compliance and regulatory support for matters subject to the jurisdiction of applicable federal regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
• Experience or interest in labor and employment law, including counseling on labor relations, immigration, benefits, wage and hour issues, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA), and employment litigation matters
• Ability to identify issues and solutions related to challenges facing the organization and its industry
• Experience or interest in the organization’s core legal practice areas, such as electric utilities, energy law, environmental law, commercial transactions, real estate law, or employment law
