The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization seeking a Recovery Support Specialist Bilingual to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose.
Requirements
- Attend to scheduled work hours and be flexible to meet client and program needs, as assigned by Program Manager or Director.
- Provide effective individual crisis counseling and use intervention tactics to reduce symptomology.
- Ensure the delivery of quality Living Room services and ensure documentation of assessments, suicide assessments, crisis stabilization plans, and appropriate referrals are completed.
- Maintain and complete a daily log capturing client interactions including date, time, and location for each shift and submit daily log to supervisor at the end of each shift.
- Prioritize the least restrictive appropriate level of care for each individual served and assist in a smooth transition to an inpatient psychiatric facility or emergency department if a higher level of care is warranted after appropriate assessments have been completed.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with MRO Rule 132, payers, and other applicable licensing and accreditation bodies.
- Attend clinical supervision a minimum of once per month, and additionally as assigned.
- Attend team meetings and be a positive contributor.
- Acquire and maintain certification in First Aid, Adult CPR, non-violent crisis intervention (CPI), ASSIST and IM+CANS.
- Ensure that care provided integrates all facets of clients’ lives including mental/emotional health, physical health/wellness, employment and education, social and family relationships, substance use/abuse issues, & housing needs.
- Provide services that promote the reduction of crisis episodes and increased functioning in order to meet rehabilitative, resiliency, and recovery goals.
- Maintain records of individuals in the Living Room program in accordance to Rule 132, payers, and accreditation bodies.
- Assure case records are properly maintained per agency procedures including scanning necessary paperwork into Cx360 per procedure.
- Maintain open and effective communication with agency and other staff, Work cooperatively with staff to ensure appropriate access to services.
- Recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action. Contact Manager and Director per procedure. Complete necessary paperwork correctly (incident reports, petitions, case notes).
- Promote awareness of mental health, both internally and externally.
- Fulfill other functions on the team, as needed.
- Employee promotes awareness and respect for the diversity of our clients, employees, families and other stakeholders.
- Provide effective services for clients’ individual needs and in line with client rights and the Mental Health Recovery Model.
- Complete, in a timely and accurate fashion, any assigned reports or documents.
- Participate in a minimum of 1 outreach and engagement activity in the community or as assigned.
- Utilizes a team approach to provide services, including triaging client needs and assigning tasks.
- CRSS will facilitate educational sessions, including mental, physical, and social skills to create and offer the opportunity for participation in a peer support group for clients.
- CRSS will create a crisis stabilization plan in collaboration with every individual during their Living Room Visit.
- CRSS will interact with 100% of the total number of guests.
- CRSS will provide outpatient case management follow up at a minimum of 2 times to facilitate linkage into appropriate services, support, and education.
- Willingness to self-disclose personal experience as a consumer of mental health services and/or dual diagnosis services.
- Participate in statewide events/summits/trainings/activities that support the education/development/promotion of WHAM, WRAP, MHFA, and Recovery Support and Consumer Provider Services.
- Commitment and ability to practice within the domains and ethics of the CRSS (certified recovery support specialist).
