The Peer Support Specialist monitors clients, transports them for treatment, communicates and documents all occurrences, and helps to provide a safe, caring environment in which the clients can recover.
Requirements
- Certify applicable staff and clients as peer support specialist
- Maintain compliance with peer support specialist training certification and credentialing
- Monitor/supervise clients at all times
- Follows the direction and guidance of the Lead Shift on duty
- Ensure that clients adhere to facility rules
- Support & Intervention - verbally support clients as needed
- Transport clients and/or staff to and from various destinations
- Record Keeping/Documentation - daily shift reports, client behavioral incidents
- Prepare rooms/units for new clients
- Client Supervision - maintain a professional attitude, refrain from profanity
- Property Management - oversee chores, inventory food, cleaning supplies, perform scheduled inspections
