Responsible for programming, setup and operating CNC grinding machines to produce high-quality precision cutting tools.

Requirements

Inspect and assess the condition of cutting tools to determine the extent of reconditioning required.
Set up and adjust grinding machines to achieve the desired specifications.
Operate precision grinding equipment to sharpen tools according to specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
Make adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards.
Remove and rebraze carbide inserts on cutting tools.
Program CNC grinding machine to produce cutting tools per sketch.
Change and dress grinding wheels.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC grinding machines to ensure they operate efficiently and accurately.
Inspect cutting tools using optical or mechanical precision measuring devices.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Work closely with other members of the production team.
Communicate effectively to convey important information related to the grinding process.
Train others on Tool Grinder A and B responsibilities.
Evaluate and prioritize workload according to needs.
Assist team members when current responsibilities have been completed.
