Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing - Data Centers

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing - Data Centers to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years of experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design. The role involves designing and constructing HVAC and plumbing systems for various types of facilities, including data centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 5 years of experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
• Experience with construction support
• Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and collation data centers
• Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
• Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
• Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
• Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
• HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
• Green building initiatives such as LEED
• Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
• International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
• NFPA Standards
