Director, Japan Legal

Box is seeking a Director, Japan Legal to lead and manage all commercial legal matters within the organization, providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives. The role involves leading the Japan Legal team, managing team member(s), overseeing contract negotiations, managing legal risks, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Work experience in a law firm or the legal department of a commercial entity in Japan (more than 10 years)
• Knowledge of Japanese law and some familiarity of Anglo-American law
• Native level Japanese with the ability to communicate in English (business level)
• Qualified lawyer or Legal educational background (law degree or law school graduate)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Commercially minded with strong problem-solving abilities
