Accountant (12-month contract)

Brookfield Renewable is seeking an Accountant to join their Business Services Group. The role involves maintaining proper ledgers, registers, accounts, journals, and similar financial records. The Accountant will collaborate with members of the Business Services Group Accounting team and support the Senior Accountant.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience performing full-cycle accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience
• CPA designation or scheduled to take the CFE within the next 12 months
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize competing responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound professional judgment under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility to work additional hours when needed
• Experience with Financial Systems such IFS, Blackline, IT2, OneStream or similar systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and US GAAP is an asset)
• Strong MS Excel skills (including vlookup and pivot tables)
• Experience in working in a public listed companies (in US or Canada) will be considered an asset
