Hydroelectric, Wind and Solar System Operator

The successful candidate will monitor and control the real time operations of Brookfield’s hydro-electric, wind power, solar power and connected facilities to ensure their safe and reliable operation on a 24x7 rotating shift basis.

Requirements

• A DCS (Diploma of College Studies) or a vocational studies diploma (DEP) or another related field, and/or work experience
• Knowledge of electrical theory, power system design, operation and control, associated mathematics and computer applications is an asset
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to complete an in-house training program and potentially NERC or ISO equivalent certification program(s) and subsequently maintain these qualifications, where required
• Capable of working efficiently and cooperatively in a shift-working, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication and cooperative skills with the ability to manage customers facing issues in a diplomatic, professional and courteous manner
• High level of situational awareness and capable of solving problems and using sound judgment
• Excellent team player
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
