The Fiber Splicer is responsible for the installation, prepping, splicing, testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling in both inside plant and outside plant environments. The position requires a good working knowledge of fiber optic networks and their related equipment to provide maximum operating efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience with fusion splicing, testing OTDR, power meters and troubleshooting fiber optic networks
- Valid CLASS A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a good driving record
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) certification or Advanced OSP Technician certification
