Medical Assistant - Outreach

The Medical Assistant – Outreach supports Care Alliance Health Center’s mission by extending high-quality clinical services beyond the walls of the clinic and into the community. This role is outreach-dominant, with some in-clinic coverage responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic.
• Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Prepare patients to be seen by provider.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physician’s instructions to patients.
• Administer medications/immunizations as directed by a provider.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Perform basic lab tests.
• Assist with medical exams and procedures.
• Provide proper documentation in patient medical records (i.e., collecting correct demographic and health information from patients).
• Assist with intake and discharge functions.
• Keep outreach/clinic areas clean and organized to provide a safe environment.
