Behavioral Health Technician

Behavioral Health Technician position involves direct psychiatric care of adults with severe and persistent mental illness, providing a homelike environment, and assisting with daily living skills, socialization, and medication administration.

Requirements

• Assist consumers in learning independent living skills
• Administer consumer medication in adherence with DHS 83 regulations
• Document residents' daily behavior and routine
• Report changes in client condition, behavior, and functioning
• Complete shift duties as assigned
• Train new and existing employees
• Ensure residents maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene
• Ensure residents leave for their day program, job, or school appropriately groomed
• Ensure nutritious community meals are planned, prepared, and served
• Perform physical repairs and report to Property Management Department
• Practice emergency evacuation procedures and perform fire alarm system checks
• Attend required initial and annual CBRF trainings and pass competency testing
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training seminars and conferences
