Behavioral Health Technician position involves direct psychiatric care of adults with severe and persistent mental illness, providing a homelike environment, and assisting with daily living skills, socialization, and medication administration.
Requirements
- Assist consumers in learning independent living skills
- Administer consumer medication in adherence with DHS 83 regulations
- Document residents' daily behavior and routine
- Report changes in client condition, behavior, and functioning
- Complete shift duties as assigned
- Train new and existing employees
- Ensure residents maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene
- Ensure residents leave for their day program, job, or school appropriately groomed
- Ensure nutritious community meals are planned, prepared, and served
- Perform physical repairs and report to Property Management Department
- Practice emergency evacuation procedures and perform fire alarm system checks
- Attend required initial and annual CBRF trainings and pass competency testing
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training seminars and conferences
