Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking an IEP Coordinator to join their award-winning Alternative Education team. The IEP Coordinator will oversee the development, implementation, and compliance of student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid AZ state teaching credential.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an AZ state special education instruction credential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
- Minimum 1 year prior relevant teaching experience, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
- Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in a classroom setting.
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities.
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals and next steps.
- Prior experience and/or highly proficient in reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting detailed reports and business correspondence.
- Proven ability to manage complex and/or sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
