Job Description
This part-time Assistant Coach position involves working with a Head Coach to develop an effective coaching program, including skill development, practice planning, student supervision, and communication with students, parents, and administration. The role focuses on instilling character and implementing the school's athletic policies. The position is ten months long, exempt from overtime, and provides a stipend.
Requirements
- Teachers or certificated professional educators employed by the local Board of Education.
- Persons certifiable as professional educators by the State Department of Education according to 13A.12.01.
- Credentialed coaches who meet the following requirement: Are eligible to hold a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01. Possess a MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification.
- Completed two years of successful coaching as an emergency coach.
- Spent the previous one year as a successful emergency coach at the school of hire in the position of hire.
