Job Description
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Crossing Guard to direct and guide children and pedestrians across traffic intersections, and perform related duties as required. The Crossing Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety of school children and other pedestrians, and will be accountable for various tasks such as stopping traffic, signaling pedestrians, and reporting traffic violations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of application
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to quickly bend, stretch, twist or reach out with one’s body, arms and/or legs
