Job Description
The City of New York is hiring a Civil Engineer I for the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations. The successful candidate will assist the Engineer-in-Charge and provide guidance to staff on CPIs and drainage plans, and develop capital project initiatives for water and sewer projects.
Requirements
- Assist the Engineer-in-Charge and provide guidance to staff on CPIs and drainage plans
- Develop Capital Project Initiations (CPIs) for water and sewer projects
- Develop drainage plans, engineering studies, and hydraulic analyses
- Ensure capital projects are in accordance with the Bureau's Strategic plan
- Review various iterations of design plans, design drawings, and specifications
- Monitor construction progress and attend pre-constructing meetings and/or construction progress meetings
- Respond to a high level of inquiries and correspondence on the capital program
- Coordinate with other Divisions/Bureaus within DEP and outside agencies
- Attend field visits when necessary
