Job Description
The NYC Department of Homeless Services is seeking a Supervisor Carpenter to supervise the work of carpenters and oversee carpentry work within homeless shelters and other related facilities. The ideal candidate will have 7 years of experience as a carpenter, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Requirements
- Supervise the work of carpenters and other assigned personnel
- Make decisions related to work procedures
- Prepare work schedules and make work assignments
- Conduct field inspections and prepare job orders
- Supervise the complete operation of the department shop
- Prepare reports and keep records
- Coordinate with other trades and departments
- Review and interpret blueprints and diagrams
- Manage a team of carpenters and conduct inspections
- Maintain inventory of carpentry tools and materials
