Job Description
Under general supervision, this position reviews mechanical construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes, zoning ordinances, and legal requirements. Conducts on-site inspections of mechanical systems in residential and commercial buildings, advises contractors and the public on mechanical codes, and investigates code violations.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Mechanical Contractor's License with #1 Hydronic heating & cooling and process piping, #2 HVAC equipment, #4 Refrigeration, and #9 Fire Suppression classifications
- One to two years plan review experience
- Two (2) years' experience as an Mechanical Inspector, OR six (6) years construction experience at the Journeyman level
- Registration as a Mechanical Inspector and Plan Reviewer with the State of Michigan
- Valid Michigan driver's license and a good driving record
