Job Description
Addiction and Mental Health Worker/Registered Practical Nurse position available for a relief pool in St. Thomas, ON, providing crisis management and support for clients in a short-term residential setting for withdrawal management.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field, preferably BSW or post-graduate diploma in addiction or equivalent
- Registered Practical Nurse applicants only: Diploma in Nursing as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and Current Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- 2 years' work experience in mental health and addiction field (preferable)
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation (preferable)
- Experience working in a residence setting (preferable)
- Clinical work experience ideally in substance abuse assessment and treatment including intake and crisis services (preferable)
- Capacity and comfort level dealing with street-involved individuals and treatment including intake and crisis services (preferable)
- First Aid & CPR, ASIST, CPI trainings (preferable)
- Bilingual both official languages, preferred
