Performs typical machine shop operations, sets up and operates machining center(s), analyzes specifications and plans layout and sequence of operations. Assists in other work areas, maintains work area and equipment, and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience as CNC Operator or equivalent technical machining certification/degree
- Previous experience setting up and operating a CNC machine in a production environment
- Experience with precision measurement methods and systems
- Experience with computers (data entry, email)
- Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (i.e., proven elementary math skills)
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language (i.e., proven elementary reading and writing skills)
- Demonstrated ability to converse and comprehend using the English language
- Demonstrated ability to use a standard computer keyboard
- Demonstrated ability to use handheld measuring tools including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometer, tape measures, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend engineering blueprints and/or customer product drawings
- Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds, repeatedly
- Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility
- Ability to work productively in an environment with a wide range of temperatures
- Able to walk/stand a minimum of twelve (12) hours per day
