The Bilingual Preschool Promise Coach provides reflective, relationship-based coaching to early learning educators serving children in PSP programs, with a focus on supporting primarily our Spanish-speaking early learning educators.
Requirements
- Knowledge of how children from birth to five (5) learn within the context of ongoing, meaningful relationships with important adults in their lives.
- A thorough understanding of the needs of preschool children, their families, and those who work with them.
- Knowledge of how programs engage families in partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of effective teaching practices.
- Two (2) years of experience providing technical assistance and training, including coaching, to early education programs, providing classroom observations and/or home visits to families with young children.
- Experience supporting the primacy of families, their home languages, cultures, and understanding of how to engage them.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices in preschool programs.
- Knowledge of how to best support the early learning workforce in all settings.
- Effective techniques of adult learning and relationship-based coaching practices.
- Knowledge of early learning quality assessment tools or willing to learn
- Knowledge of child assessment and screening tools or willing to learn
- Bilingual, Biliterate (English/Spanish) required
- Experience promoting equity-minded and diversely represented communications and materials, experience in responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and employees as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
