Metrology Engineer - Second Shift

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a motivated Metrology Engineer to develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware supporting the SPARC project. The ideal candidate will work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets demanding performance and reliability requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or field environment
• Demonstrated experience developing advanced metrology/inspection techniques
• Strong communication skills, including presenting technical information to broad audiences
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and apply GD&T
• Working knowledge of standard machining and fabrication processes
• Experience programming metrology and/or manufacturing equipment
• CAD design experience
• CMM programming experience (ZEISS Calypso preferred)
• Experience using portable metrology equipment (e.g., Creaform, laser tracker, CMM arm)
• CAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred)
• Working knowledge of quality systems fundamentals
• Comfort using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar collaboration platforms
