We are seeking to hire a Supervisor of Homeless Services to supervise and direct the activities of the Homeless Outreach Program. The Supervisor will complete documentation necessary to maintain the PATH grant and provide training in outreach and engagement of the homeless, community education, and supervision to Homeless Outreach staff.
Requirements
- Train staff in effective outreach and engagement techniques
- Complete documentation necessary to maintain the grant, including Intended Use Plan
- Gather and report required outcomes information to state and federal entities
- Monitor grant budget and make recommendations for budget revisions, if necessary
- Attend the state’s PATH network meetings
- Ensure staff clinical documentation and record-keeping meet agency standards and requirements
- Conduct staff meetings and schedule in-services as needed
- Continuously and independently conduct case finding through personal networking with street dwellers, shelters, meal sites and other places where homeless people gather
- Assess persons who are homeless to determine appropriateness for service
- Provide or assist persons in accessing basic necessities, such as food, clothes, blankets and shelter
- Perform intake assessment
- If not appropriate for CSS, assist person in accessing appropriate services through referrals to community resources
- Work closely with other social services agencies that provide services to those who are homeless, or risk homelessness
- Provide consultation/education regarding behavior management and mental health issues
- Provide and train staff in the provision of community education about various aspects of homelessness and the Outreach Program
- Provide regular individual and group supervision and PRN consultation to staff
- Maintain knowledge about the rights of individuals served and the procedures governing them
- Make use of opportunities for continuing education to maintain and/or increase administrative and clinical competence
