The Dentist provides comprehensive oral health services to patients served by the Colville Tribes Health Care Authority under the Tribe’s P.L. 93-638 self-governance authority. The position is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
Requirements
- Examine patients’ teeth, gums, and mouth to diagnose dental conditions.
- Perform routine dental exams and assessments.
- Diagnose oral diseases, injuries, and abnormalities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, discussing available options and recommending solutions.
- Conduct various dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and periodontal treatments.
- Perform oral surgeries when necessary, including extractions or implants.
- Administer local anesthesia and sedatives as needed for patient comfort.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, proper diet, and preventive dental care.
- Provide advice on maintaining good oral health to prevent further issues.
- Offer emotional support to anxious or nervous patients.
- Ensure patients understand their treatment plan and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments, diagnoses, and progress.
- Complies and ensures compliance with applicable legislation, laws, codes, regulations, accreditation, funding and organizational requirements, policies and procedures.
- Ensure confidential handling of sensitive team member and patient information in line with data protection policies and laws.
