Job Description
We are looking for an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to provide sign language interpretation services in various settings, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and their needs.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL)
- Minimum 1 year interpretation experience preferred
- Interpreter certification (RID – CDI)
- Understanding of deaf culture, social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons, history of education for students who have various levels of hearing loss, and current pedagogical trends
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling and internet
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions
