Emergency Management Specialist

The Emergency Management Specialist coordinates volunteers and operations for emergency preparedness and response in the County. Implements plans and procedures, coordinates volunteers, and promotes public awareness of emergency preparedness. Ensures compliance with local, state, and Federal rules and regulations concerning emergency management. Responds to major/critical incidents and disasters, prepares emergency response and disaster recovery plans, and facilitates communication among employees, citizens, and local government agencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in emergency management or a related field
• Three years of experience in emergency management
• Valid Georgia Driver's License, including appropriate endorsements
• CERT Instructor, Georgia Certified Emergency Manager, IS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field preferred
