Job Description
DIALOG is looking for a skilled mechanical engineer to design high-performance building systems and lead projects from concept through to construction. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology Diploma, P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.) licensure, and 6-12 years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
Requirements
- Design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and heating/cooling systems for commercial and institutional buildings
- Lead and coordinate mechanical design from schematic phase through construction documents
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated, sustainable building solutions
- Perform load calculations, equipment selections, and system sizing using first principles engineering and industry standard software
- Manage day to day project activities, including client meetings, presentations, and consultant coordination
- Mentor EITs and junior designers, contributing to team development and a culture of technical excellence
- Contribute innovative mechanical solutions for green and high performance building projects
