Clerk of Works

East Suffolk Council is seeking a Clerk of Works Officer to join its Estates and Inspections team. The successful candidate will act as the organisation’s on-site quality assurance representative, monitoring workmanship, materials, compliance, and progress across a wide range of projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Clerk of Works, site inspection, or construction quality assurance role
• Strong understanding of building regulations, standards, and construction methods
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and non-compliance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency in IT systems, including report-writing tools and digital inspection platforms
