Job Description
At Easterseals PORT Health, we are seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Burlington, NC, to support individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges. This role involves providing mentoring, coaching, and advocacy to clients in community settings, and helping individuals strengthen recovery skills and build confidence in managing their own wellness.
Requirements
- Personal lived experience and recovery story related to mental illness or substance use
- North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Minimum two years of experience working with adults with mental health needs and/or substance use needs
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance for community travel
- Ability to work in various community settings and participate in rotational crisis call services
