Job Description
The Substitute Teacher provides a nurturing environment for children aged birth to 5, supporting their language, cognitive, social, and emotional development through culturally sensitive activities. The role involves maintaining safety standards, communicating with families, and adhering to educational guidelines. This is a part-time or full-time position depending on the service requirements and family needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- DCF 45-hour training and experience in a child care setting
- Knowledge of child growth and development
- Ability to exercise control and maintain appropriate classroom discipline
- Knowledge of applicable safety and abuse-reporting procedures
- Must have current First Aid and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training
- TB screening & physical exam within 90 days of employment
- First Aid/CPR training within 90 days of employment
