Engineering Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of the product development squads working on our Joist product. As an Engineering Manager, you will contribute to solutions from inception to deployment, and everything in between. You will guide a team by example, instill values of kindness, diversity, quality, and ownership, and provide feedback on how to improve as a team.

What You Will Do

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, guiding them by example, and instilling values of kindness, diversity, quality, and ownership. You will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating with peers, dissecting business problems into well-designed systems, and selecting the right tool for the right job.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience leading engineers as their direct manager in a product development environment
• 5+ years of professional industry experience as a software developer working in agile teams
• A successful record of mentoring and growing other engineers during your years of experience
• Experience managing cross-functional product squads that include Product Management, Design, and QA/SDET partners
• A proven ability to take ownership of software projects, from scoping and estimation all the way to being live in production
• Experience and passion for Agile, DevOps and Lean approaches to delivering software and value for our customers
