Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at EXP. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead the structural design for all project types, including complex bridge designs. You will also perform analysis and design calculations, prepare plan drawings and details, and lead or perform on-site inspection and analysis of existing structures.
Requirements
- 10+ years progressively responsible relevant experience
- MS in Civil Engineering – Structures track required
- Licensed IL SE required
- Bridge Inspection experience, including NBIS certification, preferred but not required
- Prior experience with complex projects preferred
- Knowledge of bridge analysis, design and detailing as it pertains to IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, Metra, and local agencies and applicable design codes such as AASHTO and AREMA
- Experience with WisDOT preferred but not required
- Experience with a variety of structural analysis software preferred
- Experience with FEM preferred but not required
- Proficient with Bentley’s MicroStation software required; 3D experience preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
