Job Description
The Psychiatrist provides therapy and/or medication management to identify, diagnose, and treat patients under their care. This role requires a medical license, ACGME-accredited residency training program in psychiatry, and certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS).
Requirements
- Provide clinical services at or above customary practice standards
- Conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio-psycho-social model
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans through multi-disciplinary collaboration
- Order and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic test results
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families when clinically appropriate
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants to streamline clinical workflow and optimize the patient's experience of care
- MD or DO required
- ACGME-accredited residency training program in psychiatry preferred
- Current medical license in state of practice
- Current and unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration in the state of practice
- Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS)
