Requirements

• Reliable and punctual attendance
• Apply epidemiologic principles and statistical methods to identify target population, analyze trends and risk factors, and design and evaluate prevention and control strategies
• Conduct on-going surveillance using CDC infection criteria, documentation and investigation of nosocomial infections
• Conduct environmental rounds in inpatient and surgical service areas
• Coordinate investigations of any infection outbreaks in the organization
• Evaluate effectiveness of the surveillance program and modify as necessary
• Participate in quality/performance improvement activities
• Coordinate the quarterly infection control committee meetings
• Plan, organize, develop and implement educational programs for all hospital employees
• Create and maintain policies and procedures
• Develop an antibiotic stewardship program
