Requirements
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Apply epidemiologic principles and statistical methods to identify target population, analyze trends and risk factors, and design and evaluate prevention and control strategies
- Conduct on-going surveillance using CDC infection criteria, documentation and investigation of nosocomial infections
- Conduct environmental rounds in inpatient and surgical service areas
- Coordinate investigations of any infection outbreaks in the organization
- Evaluate effectiveness of the surveillance program and modify as necessary
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities
- Coordinate the quarterly infection control committee meetings
- Plan, organize, develop and implement educational programs for all hospital employees
- Create and maintain policies and procedures
- Develop an antibiotic stewardship program
