Mechanical Technician III

The Fermilab Applied Superconducting and Technology Division (APS-TD) is seeking a Mechanical Technician III for a 2-year term to support the Magnet Systems Department.

Requirements

• High school degree (or technical certificate or equivalent) plus 5+ years of extensive related experience or 3+ years’ experience at a DOE laboratory or in a technical skill of strategic importance to the Lab’s mission
• Experience working in a DOE laboratory environment is preferred
• Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Knowledge of efficient safety practices, hand/power tools, mechanical equipment
• Knowledge of Windows PC environment and facility with Microsoft Word & Excel applications
• Skills in assembly, fabrication, written & verbal communication
• Ability to safely work independently or in a collaborative team setting under limited supervision
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings & manufactures manuals
