The Fermilab Applied Superconducting and Technology Division (APS-TD) is seeking a Mechanical Technician III for a 2-year term to support the Magnet Systems Department.
Requirements
- High school degree (or technical certificate or equivalent) plus 5+ years of extensive related experience or 3+ years’ experience at a DOE laboratory or in a technical skill of strategic importance to the Lab’s mission
- Experience working in a DOE laboratory environment is preferred
- Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of efficient safety practices, hand/power tools, mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of Windows PC environment and facility with Microsoft Word & Excel applications
- Skills in assembly, fabrication, written & verbal communication
- Ability to safely work independently or in a collaborative team setting under limited supervision
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings & manufactures manuals
