We are seeking a Care Practitioner to support adults with learning disabilities and mental health disorders within their own homes and to access the local community. The role includes dayshifts, late shifts, sleepovers, and nightshifts, as well as weekend working, and the successful applicant will be expected to lone work at times. Keyworker duties are a requirement for this role, and successful applicants will be provided with all necessary training.
Requirements
- Must have, or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 7 (equivalent to SVQ 3) or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration.
- Communication skills, organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, ability to work with minimal supervision, team working skills, literacy skills, basic IT skills.
- Ability to provide support to individuals with personal care needs, moving & handling, ability to undertake physical tasks e.g., being able to comfortably kneel on beds and floors and able to rise without difficulty.
- Ability to undertake CALM training which requires a level of fitness.
- Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
