Job Description
FirstEnergy is seeking an External Design Engineer to oversee substation design projects and work with external firms. This position requires self-direction, technical support to sub-station and transmission crews, and documentation of project issues. The engineer will be responsible for safety, budget adherence, and successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical field) with Engineering experience
- Two years of Engineering experience
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Experience with FileNet, SAP, and Cascade (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
